Covid-19 means that some weekly activities such as Yoga and Pilates are not running at present, whilst others are taking place online. Please scroll down to find out what is currently available...
Community Choir (currently online)
7pm - 8.30pm
The Choir has continued online since March 2020, meeting each week via Zoom. While it is a different experience from singing in person, it has been found that online choirs are almost as beneficial as choirs that meet face-to-face. Rounds and harmonies are possible, and each singer can hear the lead and themselves while singing. No one can be heard by anyone else so it is a perfect opportunity for those starting out or returning to singing to build up their voice, skills and confidence from the comfort of their own home!
Our Community Choir is a warm and friendly group, keen to welcome new members. Anyone who wants to join the online choir can get in touch with Joy Rickwood on Joyrickwood3@yahoo.co.uk.
Note: We are keen to enable choir members to meet up and sing together when it is safe for them to do so. The ways in which we can do this are being explored and Covid-19 risk assessments are being considered. If you would like to join the choir but would prefer to wait until face-to-face meetings are possible, please contact Joy on the email above to register your interest.
Chatty Café (in real life!)
Midday - 2pm
Chatty Café is continuing when Government guidelines permit. Under normal circumstances, a small number of tables are allocated to those who would prefer not to eat alone and free transport is available to and from The Hub for those who need it. Please contact Holly on 01981 551143 to find out more...
NWD Social (online)
5pm - 6pm
No Wrong Door offer a range of drop-in sessions, workshops and online activities for young people. At present, they are running a weekly chat session for 13 - 25 year olds and anyone is welcome to join. Visit their Facebook page to find out more!
Kids' Play Café (cancelled until further notice)
9.30am - 11.00am (during term-time)
A relaxed and informal play café for 0 - 4 year olds (and their parents!). The café is available exclusively for children and parents from 9.30 - 11am before opening to the general public at 11am. Grown-ups can enjoy coffee and cake whilst the little ones have healthy snack bowls. A great selection of toys are put out for children to enjoy and the library opens at 11am so visitors can browse a lovely selection of children's books.
Trained breastfeeding support volunteers attend the Kids' Play Café fortnightly and the Health Visitors operate a monthly drop-in service.
