Stay connected with these monthly information drop-in sessions run by the Council's friendly Community Broker team. Find out about services, groups and activities taking place locally to help you stay independent, happy and healthy.

Active Here Information Session

Tuesday 5 November 11am - 2pm

Do you want to get active but aren’t sure how to begin?  Pop in and chat to a member of Active Here who can provide motivational support through 1 to 1 appointments and telephone contact at key points over a 12 week period, helping you towards independent, sustained activity.  

Carers Trust 4all Information Session

Tuesday 5 November 11am - 2pm

Carers Trust 4all visit The Hub on a monthly basis to provide information, advice and practical support to unpaid carers of all ages and the people they care for every day.

Exploring Thyroid Issues

Tuesday 5 November 11am - 2pm

Anyone living with a thyroid disorder is invited to pop in for a cup of coffee and a chat with Debbie Ingram.  Debbie would like to set up an informal support group and is seeking input from people dealing with thyroid issues themselves, as well as their families/friends/carers. 

Physio & OT Drop-in Sessions

Tuesday 5 November 12.30pm - 1.30pm

The local teams operate a monthly drop-in session on the first Tuesday of the month at The Hub. Do you need help with a walking aid? Do you need to talk through problems with getting around or mobility? Or maybe you are a carer of someone who needs some help and advice? The team can offer specialist assessment along with advice and signposting where needed; they can also work with you to help you retain your independence and keep you safe within your own home.

Stillpoint Meditation

Wednesday 6 November 7.30pm

These monthly sessions are led by Simon Lockett and explore a meditation technique to ease stress and anxiety, and inspire awareness and attentiveness. Just bring yourself and an open mind.  For more information, please email distill8@zoho.eu

Ward Councillor surgeries at The Hub

2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month (Tuesdays 12 and 26 November) 11am - 1pm

Jennie Hewitt writes: As your Ward Councillor for Golden Valley North I would like to offer a bi-

monthly opportunity to residents to engage with me on issues that affect you living in the
locality –
or just to find out who I am, what I do in my role and why I chose to offer my services.

 

I will be at The Hub on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 11am -1pm. There is private

space available in the library at these times if you should so wish. They serve wonderful cakes

and beverages too!

Craft Fair

Pop into The Hub to view beautiful handmade arts and crafts.  This is an opportunity to buy unique gifts in time for Christmas!  Refreshments available; free admission.

 

inSPIRE Lunch

Tuesday 19 November 12.30 - 2pm

Choices for the main course are Autumn Chicken or Spinach and Cheese Risotto Cake, both served with seasonal vegetables.  Dessert will be Lime Crunch Pie or Eve's Pudding.

Black Mountain Herefordshire Wildlife Trust talk: Butterflies

Wednesday 20 November 7.30pm - 9.00pm

All are welcome to a talk by Mick Colquoun on Butterflies.  Mick is one of Herefordshire’s leading wildlife photographers, with work appearing in numerous important books and publications. He’s photographed all 58 butterfly species breeding in the UK, so this talk should be comprehensive and well as fascinating!

Members £3; non-members £4.

Chatty Café

Wednesdays 30 October, 13 November and 27 November 11am - 2pm

The Hub has joined the nationwide Chatty Café scheme!  Taking place on alternate (recycling) Wednesdays, a small number of tables in the café will be allocated to people who would prefer not to sit alone.  If you know of anyone who would like to attend but has transport difficulties, please contact Holly at The Hub on 01981 551143 to see if she can help.
